There’s something uniquely meaningful about photographing your family where real life happens — at home.
Whether it’s a rainy spring morning, a bright summer day, or a cozy autumn afternoon, in-home family photos in Zug and Zurich capture your family’s connection in the most authentic way.
As a family photographer in Zug and Zurich, I love these sessions because they allow children (and parents!) to relax. You don’t need to go anywhere or worry about the weather — everything you love is already right there.
Here are my five essential tips to help you prepare your home — and your family — for a beautiful, natural photo experience.

You don’t need to prepare your entire home — just one or two spaces with good light. The living room and master bedroom usually work best, since they often have large windows and are spaces where your family naturally spends time together.
There’s a reason I ask for photos of your home or backyard before your session: I work with light and backgrounds. Knowing what your space looks like helps me plan the best compositions and avoid tricky spots.
If there’s a room you’d rather skip, that’s absolutely fine — I’ll adapt and focus on the areas that feel most like you.

What to Expect from Your Family Photo Session in Zug & Zurich
Light is everything in photography — especially indoors.
After booking, spend a couple of days noticing how the sunlight moves through your rooms.
Tips for great light:
We’ll schedule your session for the time of day when your home looks its best, whether that’s a sunny morning or a gentle late-afternoon glow.

You don’t need to deep-clean your entire home — promise!
But tidying up the main rooms makes a big difference on camera.
At home, our eyes get used to clutter, but the camera catches every little detail.
The goal is to reduce visual distractions, not to make your home look staged.
Quick tidy checklist:
Simple and natural always photographs best.
Your home already provides the color palette — your outfits should simply complement it.
Stick with soft, neutral tones like beige, cream, olive, or muted rusts. Avoid bright logos or bold prints that can clash with your décor.
And above all, choose comfort. You’ll be sitting, playing, and cuddling with your kids — so wear something that lets you move easily.

The secret to a relaxed session isn’t your home — it’s your mindset.
Keep the day calm and positive. Play your favorite music, keep snacks nearby, and allow breaks when needed.
Encourage your kids to be themselves — the silly faces, giggles, and spontaneous moments are what make your gallery come alive.
Trust me to guide the light, flow, and pacing. The best images often happen in the in-between moments — the cuddles, tickles, and bursts of laughter.
Before your in-home session:

Every home has its own rhythm — the light through your windows, the laughter in your kitchen, the hugs on your sofa.
That’s why I love in-home family sessions in Zug & Zurich: they capture your family’s story exactly where it unfolds.
